Seventy-six MSU students volunteered at the Edgewood Village Housing Complex.

MSU, East Lansing businesses, and the city work with the CRC to provide welcome bags every fall to homes in the neighborhoods close to campus.

The MSU College of Law sponsors Rental Housing, Tax, Small Business & Nonprofit, and Chance at Childhood clinics, and EL contributes.

MSU student teachers work in EL public schools. During 2006–07, three students volunteered at Glencairn Elementary School, 16 at EL High School, 36 at MacDonald Middle School, and 117 at Red Cedar Elementary School. Also, three students tutored for the America Reads program.

MSU partnered with the EL Department of Public Works and St. Vincent Catholic Charities during spring move-out to donate usable furniture items for refugee housing setup.

Sororities and fraternities raise money during Greek Week for local organizations. More than $200,000 was raised and donated in 2007.
